The Crime Doctor Movies, with Warner Baxter, were an interesting group of mysteries among many that
Columbia put out in the forties.
It was about a super smart bad guy that got done in by his gang. They beat him up and threw him
out at the side of the road.
He was found and taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed to be suffering from amnesia.
Nobody knew how to help bring back his memory so he became a doctor to do it himself . . . .
Thus was born Dr. Robert Ordway, the beloved psychiatrist who usually ended up right in the middle
of any crime happening in the area.
Riveting, isn't it?!
There was even a Crime Doctor radio show:
(1945) 04/01 - Eddy Brookleif's Money!
