SARAH
KEATE
Mignon Eberhart was a contemporary of Mary Roberts Rinehart and began her writing career with her
Sarah Keate character in The Patient in Room 18 (1929). Why start with The Murder of Dr. Harrigan (1936), especially
since it was based on This Dark Stairway (1931) that is out of chronological order? Because
you’d need good luck finding it among Eberhart’s credits on www.imdb.com!
One side note: For some reason “Sarah Keate” frequently
sounds to Maven like “parakeet”!
