given the name "Shimmering Wisteria" by Alison Stilwell Cameron who taught Mother how to paint watercolors in the Chinese
manner.
Allison had learned the Chinese manner
by a Chinese artist. Her family had moved there when her father, General Joseph "Vinegar Joe," was stationed there in
the thirties.
