WHAT'S MY LINE?
THE WHISTLER
THE WIZARD OF OZ (1939)

Maven will be adding to this section from time to time . . . as long as Aunt Battie has her smelling salts for her fainting spells at the thought of this page!

BOLERO (1934) headlined Carole Lombard and George Raft who obviously had a stunt dancer for this film at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkVrRhgX_mc.

Sally Rand was also in this film plus did a stint at the 1934 Chicago World's fair:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTEIWK9CaEs.  NOTE:  There is at least implied nudity . . . and if that doesn't go without saying than your parents need to do a Google search for her!

Gypsy Rose Lee was . . . shall we say . . . the First Lady of Burlesque?!  She did do a strip tease in the movies . . . yes, she did,  in 1943's Stage Door Canteen! . . . but it was modified so the whole family could watch it.  Of course, today's parents might need to have garter belts and Balzac explained to them but that's presuming that the grandparents are familiar with this clip!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-jEKVq38bY&feature=related.

On the other hand we have censorship in the movies!

We have some articles that explain what seems absolutely ridiculous these days with the language on broadcast televisions that would have made Maven blush to tears . . . .  We won't even mention the kinds of reactions that her mother, grandmother and Godmother would have had . . . !!!

Then there was an article in Look Magazine on January, 17, 1939:
