Maven decided to make a cookbook
tribute to the Charlie Chan Movies. The recipes were selected
to go with individual movies . . . . The "Hunt Club
Sandwiches" are perfect
with Charlie Chan
in London (1934)
and Mrs. Chan's Stew
with Shanghai Cobra (1943). Maven also included recipes like "Crab Louis," mentioned in The Crime Doctor's Man Hunt (1946). Okay . . . . So it's not Charlie Chan but . . . it could have been in the Chans with posh party scenes or upscale night clubs!! And some are just for
fun . . . like the "Ice
Cream Cone Clowns"!
Oh, heck, you can use them with ANY movie!!
You can find the entire cookbook at
Or . . . you can try a taste of the recipes
by checking out the ones below!!
(Of course, "Mrs. Chan" is Maven's own mother, Beckey Truesdale! And using the "Chan" family name protects those relatives who don't
want to be associated with Maven and/or this website! Plus the Recipes of the week at:
